Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to every person booked onto an activity with Vertical Skills. If booking on behalf of a third party, you accept these terms and conditions on their behalf and it is important that you make them aware of all the sections below. We would also recommend that you take out the appropriate travel and or activity insurance when possible.

1. Fees.

1.1 All activity fees include equipment hire and professional instruction.

1.2 Places and dates will only be reserved on the completion of a booking form on our website, by phone, email or social media sites. The booking team will take the necessary payments, which includes a non-refundable admin fee of £10.00 per booking, plus a non-refundable booking fee. This is non-negotiable.

1.3 The balance of the total booking fee is payable four weeks prior to the commencement of the activity unless agreed otherwise. In the event that the balance is not paid we will treat the booking as cancelled by the client and re-sell the course/activity.

1.4 The whole activity fee is required to reserve a place for any activity made within 2 weeks of the commencement of the course/activity.

2. Cancellation by Client.

2.1 All cancellations must be made by email to [email protected] no less than 14 days prior to the event start date to receive any reschedule. A full refund of will require four week’s notice. Any refund will consist of any payments made minus a £10 admin fee and the booking fee.

2.2 All cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the start date will be refunded in vouchers to be redeemed within a twelve-month period of the date on the voucher.

2.3 Refunds will only be made at the end of the month when possible.

3. Cancellation by Vertical Skills.

3.1 Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that activities run, we will notify the client of cancellation as soon as practicable where we believe on reasonable grounds that cancellation is necessary due to dangerous and/or unsuitable conditions for the course/activity. We will always try to offer another activity if possible or another date for the activity.

3.2 Health and safety is paramount in the outdoor adventure environment and we ask that you do not question any decisions made by our experienced staff regarding your safety and the cancellation of any activities or events.

3.3 All cancellations will be made prior to the commencement of the course/activity start time and where numbers as a result of client(s) cancellation failed to reach a workable minimum for the commencement of the course/activity.

3.4 In the event of cancellation you will be offered:

a) Vouchers for the full amount paid.

b) Another course/activity on different dates to suit both parties.

c) Refunds will be given for Health and Safety decisions, minus a £10 admin fee and the booking fee. Examples of such situations include extreme weather patterns, flooding, flash flooding, road closures, road traffic incidents and travelling issues.

We will accept no responsibility whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to personal property and by reading and signing the indemnit
